Google is one of the largest companies in the world. In fact, under its parent company, Alphabet, this overall company is known as the fourth largest company in the world.

Knowing that, how many employees does Google have today?

Before we discuss how many employees work at Google, we need to address the fact that they just laid off around 12,000 employees so far in 2023, which accounted for 6% of their previous staff.

According to the New York Post, Google, along with Amazon and Meta started hiring lower paid foreign workers after the layoffs in the United States.

We would like to follow that by saying that these huge corporations did provide ample severance packages for those they laid off earlier this year.

Also, there is news that 400 layoffs are to begin in India soon.

These major companies say that due to over-hiring during the pandemic and the losses in revenue during that time, they are laying off to preserve their companies.

That said, we will move forward by discussing how many employees work for Google from what we can find through research and other relevant data about Google employment.
